Bart Henderson has been guiding raft trips since 1969. He has over 35000 river miles guiding under his belt, from the Grand Canyon to Africa and much of the world in between. In 1976 he came to Alaska and explored the Tatshenshini, fell in love with it and began Chilkat Guides in 1978. Now he balances his time between the office and the river, but his heart is still on the river... |

For the past 10 years Michael has been a part of the Chilkat Guides Team. He has lead trips for us on the rivers of the Eagle Preserve, Glacier Point and the Tatshenshini. He has played an intricate role in developing and working with our training team to create what we feel is “a world class training program”. As a Haines resident Michael and his family enjoy all the wonders that Haines has to offer. |
Andy Hedden | |

Andy is Chilkat Guides’ Director of Operations and has been with the company for the past 15 years. From his first position washing buses to guiding on the Alsek, Andy has done it all. When he’s not in the office Andy fills his free time backcountry skiing, fly fishing and sea kayaking. Andy holds a private pilots license, is a Wilderness First Responder and is a PSIA level 3 ski instructor. |

Sherri is the glue; officially deemed the accounting coordinator, her actual effect on office-life is a refreshing light! As a Haines resident for over 25 years, she's been kicking round these parts longer than most. |

Scott enjoys all aspects of river-running and mountaineering, he has been a guide and aspiring naturalist for 13 years. He has been a part of the training at Chilkat Guides since 1997, and has been leading the 'Guide School' since it's inception in 2004. Scott is the only guide on staff that has led trips in all of our program areas, and he is a certified Swiftwater Rescue Technician |
